AI keeps moving. We help Perth businesses work out where it actually helps.

As a generative AI agency in Perth, we’d rather show our working than talk in buzzwords. We’ve built Voodu.ai in AI voice technology, Solais for analysing how brands appear across large language models, and a suite of recommendation platforms for tourism and hospitality. Accessibility tools, voice-first interfaces and large-scale data analysis are part of the job too.

That work has been featured by the BBC, Perth Festival, Vogue and BAFTA. Lovely, but the bit we care about is simpler: AI that’s genuinely useful to the people using it, and honest advice on where it won’t help.

AI consultants who start with how your team actually works

We’d rather fit AI around your people than ask them to bend around a tool. Every workflow and automation starts with how things get done in your business today, and where those jobs could be lighter, faster or simpler. We work with organisations in Perth and across Australia, and we keep the jargon out of the room so everyone can follow along.

You should see the benefit in simpler workflows, better decisions and tools that feel natural to use. Sometimes that takes a single-day workshop, and sometimes a longer stretch of work. If AI isn’t the right answer for part of your business, we’ll say so. If we don’t know yet, we’ll say that too.

Discover, explore, define, implement

We start with your team, defining what success looks like and where AI could make a real difference. Then we look closely at how your organisation runs, including the tools, decisions and workflows behind your day. That’s where the practical opportunities show up: automation, augmentation and insight that fit the systems you already have, plus a few ideas that probably aren’t worth chasing.

You get a clear plan showing where AI can make the biggest difference, how to start safely and what to build next. Then we build it with you, as a pilot or a full integration, keeping each step practical and ethical. The goal is less repetitive work, data your team can trust, and more room to think.

FAQS

Fair questions about AI

01

What does your AI consultancy actually do for organisations in Perth and across Australia?

We help organisations design and put in place AI systems that solve real problems. That covers discovery sessions, technical planning, custom tools, integration with existing systems, data workflow audits and training for internal teams. We get to know the business first, so we can scope, design, prototype and build something that earns its keep.

02

Where do we start if we’ve never used AI before?

With an AI Discovery & Roadmap session, in person in Perth or remotely anywhere in Australia. We look at your goals, systems, workflows, tech stack, risks and opportunities, then map a staged plan that balances quick wins with long-term value. Plain language throughout, and a plan you can act on straight away.

03

Can you build custom AI tools instead of using public platforms like ChatGPT?

Yes. We build custom tools using APIs, private models, your own data, secure hosting and tailored UX. Public tools like ChatGPT are great for exploring. A custom platform gives you control over data privacy, performance, behaviour, compliance, branding, workflow integration and IP.

04

Is our data secure with AI tools?

Yes. We use private infrastructure and enterprise-grade security standards, and we never use your data to train external models without written consent. We can host models locally, or isolate prompts, logs and outputs. Security is planned in from the start of implementation, rather than bolted on later.

05

How do we measure ROI on AI projects?

With tangible data: time saved, less manual processing, conversions, support load, cost per task, automation rates, output accuracy, speed to publish and internal capacity created. We track these from day one, so the results come from the numbers rather than a finger in the wind.

06

Do you work with government, education and enterprise organisations in Australia?

Yes. We work with local and state government, corporates, agencies, health providers, education institutions and national brands. We understand procurement, governance frameworks, accessibility standards and risk management requirements for organisations across Australia and beyond.

07

Can AI improve accessibility and inclusion for Australian audiences?

We believe it can. We design AI systems that support voice navigation, language accessibility, searchability, alternative content formats, WCAG compliance and adaptive interfaces. That matters most for public-facing Australian brands, government departments and education providers, where nobody should be left out.

08

What makes The Start different from other AI agencies in Australia?

We’re a generative AI agency based in Perth, working with clients nationally. Design, engineering, marketing, data and product development all sit under one roof, so we don’t stop at the workshop. We build the tools, integrate them into your systems, train your team and support the roll-out.
